One of Many

This project is an experiment in technique. Each photograph is one long exposure, not multiple exposures overlaid. In a pitch-black room, against a black backdrop, my model walked across the frame for the duration of the approximately 10-second exposure. To the right of the frame, an assistant rhythmically triggered a strobe light at about 120 bpm, exposing the subject to the camera twice a second. This created a single image containing up to 20 exposures; a study of movement.
